    Our factory is located in the rolling hills of Pennsylvania, with many employees residing in and enjoying nearby Philadelphia, Lancaster City, Reading and York. The area, located in Pennsylvania’s Americana Region, is known historically for its industry and manufacturing and boasts a low cost of living and top-notch educational institutions, among other area opportunities.

    The Machinist will report to the Machining Manager and will produce machined parts by setting up and operating a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. The Machinist will also be responsible for:

    • Plans machining by studying work orders, blue prints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
    • Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry and trigonometry; proving part programs.
    • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards.
    • Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprograming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
    • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
    • Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
    • Maintains continuality among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
    • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
    • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

    Required Skills

    Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent.  Must have experience setting up and running CNC machine with 5 axis milling control.  Qualified candidates must also have experience on multiple turn Lathe and Mill CNC controls.  Qualified candidates should have conceptual skills, process improvement skills and functional and technical skills.  Qualified candidates should also have excellent verbal communication skills, exhibit sound judgment, and pays particular attention to detail.  Qualified candidates must also have experience in controls and instrumentation, tooling, and coordination. Qualified candidates with one year in machining facility preferred.
