Stateline Family YMCA is currently hiring a part-time Competitive Gymnastics Coach for our Beloit Gymnastics Center. Candidates should be available to work 10-15 weekday evenings. Travel and weekend hours required during meet season.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Instruct/coach gymnastics lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly
• Provide safe, supportive spotting to gymnasts as they practice skills
• Travel to competitive gymnastics meets as scheduled, including potential overnight stays
• Build effective, authentic relationships with participants and parents; help them connect with each other and the YMCA. Encourages parent involvement and identifies potential volunteers
• Convey information on gymnastics programs and schedules and, as appropriate, refer participants and parents to other programs
• Maintain records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Prior experience coaching gymnastics required
• Experience with spotting gymnasts preferred
• Experience with choreographing gymnastics routines preferred

Skills

• Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of gymnastics skills to effectively guide gymnasts, or is willing to learn/be trained to acquire the knowledge
• Ability to maintain positive presence in the facility
