UI/UX DESIGNER

Station Digital Media Inc.

Station is looking for a talented UI/UX designer to join the team. The ideal candidate can deliver across both disciplines and take a product concept from scribble to high-fidelity prototype and market release. S/he should have a talent for and understanding of design research, usability testing, typography, color, information hierarchy, visual balance, branding and cognitive design.

The UI/UX Designer’s primary focus will be to transform high level requirements into well-structured, engaging and efficient user experience designs, as well as deliver compelling visual designs for Web and Mobile and In-Vehicle apps while adhering to client brand guidelines and keeping with the latest UI/UX design trends.

You will work within a team including Product Lead, Design Lead, Interaction Designer, Business Analysts, UI/UX designers and Developers to deliver projects to market. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Transform ideas and concepts into well-structured, efficient user experiences

·       Develop UI/UX deliverables, from information architecture, user flow diagrams, low & high-fidelity wireframes, storyboards, prototypes, and style guides

·       Perform user research and usability tests to validate design concepts

• Translate brand guidelines into design templates and style guides for web and mobile interfaces
• Translate complex metrics and other information into rich and interactive digital data visualizations

·       Ensure that the end-to-end experience meets consumer expectations

·       Review Development deliverables to ensure that they meet design expectations

• Champion accessibility and usability best practices across all design properties

·       Work closely with Product Lead and Design Lead to deliver designs end-to-end

• Work closely with broader cross-functional team to understand product vision, business requirements, technical limitations, target audience and customer feedback
• Communicate with developers and BAs to ensure design aligns with requirements
• Communicate with developers to ensure design assets are delivered according to technical needs and designs work within technical limitations
• Work with Interaction Designer on developing and defining visual design patterns and libraries to be used across projects

QUALIFICATIONS:

·       Minimum of 3-5 years of experience designing complete Web and Mobile interfaces

·       Expertise in Sketch and Figma

·       Full understanding of different OS requirements and best practices for design assets (Web, iOS, Android)

·       Experience working in an Agile environment a plus

·       Strong attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering highly polished web-based and mobile prototypes under tight time constraints

·       Solid foundation in usability and accessibility 

·       Ability to work independently as well as within a distributed team

·       High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering highly polished mobile and web-based assets under tight time constraints

·       Ability to recognize and address user experience needs and gaps 

·       Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills

·       Ability to articulate design vision and UI/UX directions to a broad audience

·       Professional English communication skills, both verbal and written

·       Experience working in automotive a plus

·       Must be authorized to work in the US

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

·       Bachelor's Degree in fine art, graphic design, industrial design, visual communications or equivalent
