    We are searching for a Chief Engineer for our brand new 111 room Staybridge Suites - Thornton, CO set to open in June of 2020!

    As Chief Engineer, you will lead our engineering team and keep our hotel equipment running properly which will extend the life of the equipment and keep our guests satisfied during their stay. The ideal candidate is a respected leader, has a high attention to detail and in-depth knowledge of HVAC, electric, mechanical and plumbing systems. You will manage, staff, and train your department team members and ensure maintenance projects stay on time and on budget.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Responsible for all general and preventive maintenance programs for the hotel.

    Maintain all records of installation and maintenance performed on equipment in all rooms and public spaces for maintenance and warranty purposes.

    Responsible for purchasing of major parts and equipment; must obtain multiple bids for work being completed by outside vendors to ensure most cost-effective vendors are being utilized.

    Responsible for the aesthetics of the exterior and interior of the building, continuously evaluates remodeling projects. Schedules labor and material for remodeling and refurbishing projects.

    Responsible for maintaining the fire and health requirements for the hotel and reporting any discrepancies to the General Manager.

    Involved in the recruiting and onboarding process. Prepares work schedules in accordance with forecasted occupancy.

    Supervise tasks to insure they are carried out correctly and performed timely with proper workmanship and cleanliness; communicate performance expectations and provide employees with on-going feedback.

    Responsible for monitoring compliance with state building codes and regulations, OSHA safety codes and adherence to Fire Department standards of safety and evacuation procedures.

    Cooperates with all department heads; leads departmental meetings.

    Ensures good relationships with internal and external customers and contractors.

    Responds to guest requests and complaints timely, efficiently, appropriately and in a friendly manner; communicates guest issues to General Manager.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    3 - 5 or more years of maintenance and/or engineering experience; Managing Experience.

    Advanced knowledge of building management and engineering.

    Able to communicate and collaborate effectively with other hotel employees and managers.

    Able to utilize quick thinking and apply quick resolution to hotel maintenance issues in accordance to the brand standards.

    Able to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks.

    Position involves manual labor for most of the working day, therefore, constant physical movement is necessary.

    Lifting 30 to 50lbs regularly; 70 to 100lbs occasionally.
