    Start Date 8/18/25-The STEAM Curriculum Coordinator is responsible for developing, documenting, and distributing a structured, integrated STEAM curriculum across four program sites. This role ensures that 20 classrooms follow a cohesive biweekly project cycle, emphasizing hands-on, project-based learning. While LEGO WeDo 2.0 serves as a foundational resource, the curriculum can incorporate other STEAM approaches that align with program goals.

    Additionally, this position will integrate social-emotional learning (SEL) best practices into the curriculum to help students develop teamwork, problem-solving skills, confidence, and resilience. The role includes on-site support for best practices in curriculum implementation, staff training through biweekly videos, assessing materials, submitting purchase orders, and substituting in classrooms when needed.

    Hours: Part-Time (25 hours per week)-Split Shifts 6:45am-8:45am and 3pm -6pm Monday -Friday Locations: Four sites within the same city Target Age Group: School-aged children (5-10 years old)

    Key Responsibilities

    Curriculum Development & Lesson Plan Distribution

    Design and document a biweekly STEAM curriculum using project-based learning methods.

    Ensure lessons are engaging, hands-on, and age-appropriate.

    Integrate books, worksheets, painting, robotics, and movement-based learning.

    Incorporate social-emotional learning (SEL) strategies, such as growth mindset, perseverance, and collaborative problem-solving.

    Source books from the local library that complement each biweekly theme.

    Lesson Plan Distribution Process:

    Develop lesson plans and instructional materials in a digital format (Google Drive, PDFs, or another shared platform).

    Upload and organize materials in a centralized location accessible to all staff.

    Print and package hard copies for each site as needed.

    Distribute curriculum materials simultaneously to all four sites at the start of each biweekly cycle.

    Record a biweekly training video demonstrating completed projects, explaining key concepts, outlining required materials, and highlighting SEL techniques for staff to incorporate.

    Material Assessment & Procurement

    Assess and inventory required materials for all sites to successfully implement the program.

    Identify and submit purchase orders for supplies, including robotics kits, art materials, books, and other curriculum resources.

    Ensure all sites have the necessary materials before each biweekly cycle begins.

    Implementation & Staff Support

    Provide hands-on coaching and support as teachers implement the curriculum.

    Offer best practice recommendations for integrating social-emotional learning into STEAM projects.

    Serve as an in-class substitute when teachers call out.

    Monitor and assess program effectiveness, gathering feedback for curriculum adjustments.

    Student Engagement & Demonstration of Learning

    Ensure that all classrooms are prepared for DOPE (Demonstration of Project Excellence) Fridays, a biweekly event where students present their projects using poise, pitch, and pace in a supportive “Shark Tank” style format.

    Support classroom teachers by providing guidance, resources, and strategies for facilitating DOPE Fridays.

    Encourage students to reflect on their learning process and use SEL techniques like self-assessment, peer feedback, and public speaking confidence.

    Maintain records of student progress and provide feedback to educators and administrators.

    Ideal Candidate Qualifications

    Experience in STEAM education, curriculum development, or youth programming.

    Familiarity with various project-based STEAM curricula, including LEGO WeDo 2.0 and other hands-on learning approaches.

    Knowledge of social-emotional learning (SEL) frameworks and their integration into educational programs.

    Strong organizational and communication skills.

    Ability to train and support staff in a structured curriculum.

    Comfortable working in multiple locations and stepping into classrooms as needed.

    Experience in material procurement, budgeting, or supply chain coordination is a plus.
