As we enter our 25th year, our growing company is refocusing our sales process and seeking to immediately expand our inside sales team as a result.  ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Inside Sales Representative, you will serve as the starting point and guide for assisting customers in determining what materials they require for their unique fencing project. While prior experience with the fence industry is a plus, extensive on-the-job training on all product lines will be provided. These customers will range from first-time fence installers to professional contractors. Candidates interested in this position must be willing to adopt and embody our company's 3 Core Pillars of Success: Quality, Respect, and Knowledge. Whether working with customers or co-workers, these 3 Core Pillars will form the base of all your interactions at Steel & Fence Supply.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maximize new sales opportunities through in-person, phone, or email communications
• Research and contact potential customers (cold-calling)
• Perform over-the-counter quotes, product demonstrations, and sales 
• Diligently respond to customer order and quotation requests
• Conduct routine follow-up on customer quotes and shipments
• Accurately accept and process cash, check, and credit card payments 
• Offer helpful solutions to customers from provided informational guides on common project types
• Discern when to seek supervisor advice and guidance on non-routine or special-case instances
• Maintain an organized desk and showroom, including merchandising replenishment
• Full-time, Monday to Friday (7:00 am to 4:00 pm), with potential overtime as required from time to time

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

• Skilled in verbal and written communications in English
• Thrives under pressure while meeting monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
• Positive, welcoming attitude and a desire for personal development
• Professional in appearance, behavior, and work ethic
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
• Commitment to following processes
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift over 75 lbs.
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Valid, current state driver license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Fluency in Spanish
• Prior sales experience
• Prior experience in the fence or construction industries
