    Hello there!  Steel Wool Studios is looking for a 3D Environment Artist!

    As a 3D Environment Artist on the team, you will help us build out our VR world and create something fun and adventurous for our players.

    ABOUT THE JOB

    As an Environment Artist you will create high-quality assets for PC and consoles, you are expected to take your assets all the way from conceptual mockups, to modeling and texturing, to final placement in the environment. We are looking for someone who had experience with a stylized style, but it is a bonus if you can adapt to other art styles as well. You will work closely with our Level Designers and Game Directors to bring our game world to life, shaping it into a believable and immersive place. We are looking for someone used to a heavily iterative process and are comfortable showing very work in progress models and levels frequently, receiving feedback and collaborating with others.  Our projects are VR oriented, but no field experience is required, but a plus if you have it.

    Each team member at Steel Wool Games has an important influence on the game and is involved in the decision-making process: it is crucial that you can not only manage your own work, but also have strong collaboration skills, problem solving approach and team mentality.

    OUR REQUIREMENTS

    • Expert skills in modeling and texturing, with an understanding of technical constraints and pipeline, and how it affects asset creation
    • Strong ability to create and compose believable environments and props
    • Experience creating art for game projects (two previous project experience required)
    • Proficiency with Maya, Substance, Photoshop, and good knowledge with additional industry standard art packages
    • Experience in Unreal Engine
    • Good collaboration and communication skills to work well with the Environment Art Team as other departments.
    • Good English communication skills (verbal and written)
