SALARY: STARTING $19-20/HOUR
DAYS OF THE WEEK: 5 DAYS/WEEK
HOURS: 35-40 HOURS/WEEK

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:
HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT (PREFERRED)
GRADUATE OF AN ACCREDITED MEDICAL ASSISTING PROGRAM
A MINIMUM OF 160 BACK OFFICE EXTERN HOURS
CURRENT CPR BLS CERTIFICATION
BILINGUAL: VIETNAMESE AND ENGLISH
EXCELLENT VERBAL, TELEPHONE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS
PROFICIENT COMPUTER AND TECHNOLOGICAL SKILLS (MS WORD, MS EXCEL, ELECTRONIC FAX)
KNOWLEDGEABLE OF MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY
ABILITY TO USE ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORDS SYSTEMS
DETAIL ORIENTED, COMMUNICATES WELL WITHIN A TEAM, NOT AFRAID TO ASK QUESTIONS

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
COMMUNICATE CLEARLY WITH PATIENTS, IN PERSON OR VIA TELEPHONE, IN A WELCOMING MANNER
OPTIMIZE PATIENTS' SATISFACTION, PROVIDER TIME, AND EXAM ROOM UTILIZATION BY EFFICIENTLY SCHEDULING APPOINTMENTS
VERIFY PATIENT INSURANCE BENEFITS AND ELIGIBILITY PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT; REMIND PATIENTS OF THEIR APPOINTMENTS; REGISTER AND CHECK IN PATIENTS IN A TIMELY MANNER; PREPARE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS FOR THE VISIT; NOTIFY PROVIDER OF PATIENTS’ LATE ARRIVAL; RESCHEDULE OR MOVE LATE ARRIVING PATIENTS WHEN NECESSARY.
TRIAGE PATIENT CALLS EFFICIENTLY
QUICKLY LEARN AND EFFECTIVELY USE OUR EMR
COMFORT PATIENTS BY ANTICIPATING PATIENTS' ANXIETIES; ANSWERING PATIENTS' QUESTIONS
MAINTAIN A CLEAN AND PRESENTABLE FRONT OFFICE AND RECEPTION AREA.
PROVIDE APPROPRIATE FEEDBACK TO THE MEDICAL TEAM, FOLLOW-UP INFORMATION TO PATIENTS AND CORRECTLY INPUT DATA AS REQUIRED.
MAINTAIN PATIENT CHARTS BY OBTAINING, RECORDING, AND UPDATING PATIENT DEMOGRAPHICS AND INSURANCE INFORMATION IN THE EMR.
MAINTAIN ACCURATE FINANCIAL RECORDS BY UPDATING PATIENT FINANCIAL INFORMATION; RECORDING AND COLLECTING PATIENT CHARGES; PROVIDING PATIENTS WITH RECEIPTS FOR PAYMENTS.
HELP PATIENTS IN DISTRESS BY RESPONDING TO EMERGENCIES.
PROTECT PATIENTS' RIGHTS BY MAINTAINING CONFIDENTIALITY OF PERSONAL AND FINANCIAL INFORMATION PER HIPAA REGULATIONS.
ASSIST IN ORIENTATION OF NEW PERSONNEL AS DIRECTED.
PERFORM ALL OTHER DUTIES AS TRAINED AND REQUESTED BY THE PROVIDER AND/OR MANAGEMENT.
OPENLY COMMUNICATE AND WORK WELL WITH OTHERS IN A TEAM
BUILD CARING CONNECTIONS WITH PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES
SCAN AND FAX DOCUMENTS, HANDLE MESSAGES BY PHONE, MAIL, EMAIL, OR FAX
LEARN ABOUT FULL SPECTRUM MEDICINE IN A DIVERSE SOCIO ECONOMIC SETTING
ENCOURAGE PATIENT COMPLIANCE WITH PREVENTIVE CARE BY REACHING OUT TO PATIENTS AND REMINDING THEM WHEN THEY ARE DUE FOR PREVENTIVE EXAMS AND SCREENINGS.
