    Job Description

    Sterling Administration is seeking a full-time Application Support Engineer to work predominantly from a home office with occasional travel to our Downtown Oakland office. This position is responsible for maintaining Sterling’s web and mobile applications including but not limited to testing, updates, designing and debugging. With extensive knowledge PHP web frameworks, Web Applications and programming languages, the Web Developer will be an integral member of Sterling’s IT Core Products team..

    DUTIES

    • Responsible for testing web applications.
    • Updates and alters application features to enhance performance.
    • Designs and implements new features into SugarCRM interface.
    • Produces and documents source code in a timely manner.
    • Documents and maintains IT Security operations manuals and procedures.
    • Debug existing source code and creates feature/recommendation documents/technical design documents.
    • Setup and development of new hosting servers.
    • Proactively work with development, QA, and IT departments to resolve assigned client issues in a timely manner
    • Other duties as assigned to support IT control objectives, business objectives, IT projects and others.

    CANDIDATE MUST HAVE:

    • Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science, Computing or similar field required.
    • 6-8 years’ experience in Web development/Application support required.
    • Applies knowledge to identify issues and internal problems; works to develop additional technical knowledge and skills.
    • Knowledge of PHP web frameworks including CodeIgniter.
    • Strong knowledge of Web Applications and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and API's.
    • Proficient with code versioning tools including Git, CVS, and SVN.
    • Familiarity with SQL/Oracle databases.
    • Understanding of core AWS services, uses, and basic AWS architecture best practices.
    • Proficiency in deploying and debugging cloud-based applications using AWS.
    • Knowledge in Web Services (REST/SOAP), Multimedia Content Development, API's, Security Principles.
    • Knowledge of web application security issues.
    • Working experience and knowledge of Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems.
    • Knowledge of the Adobe software suite (Photoshop, Dreamweaver)
    • Working Knowledge of IT Hardware and Software
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365.
    • Must know how to publish websites
    • Must know how to transfer domains
    • Must know DNS
