    Job Description

    ​Sterling Personnel, Inc. is recruiting for an experienced Tax Manager to lead our client’s tax department. Our client is a privately held, growth oriented CPA firm located in Northwest Houston, TX.  RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Supervising, coaching, directing, and reviewing the work of tax staff
    • Meeting with Prospects, and assigning and communicating next steps to the Client Service Coordinator
    • Recognizing client problem areas and assisting with formulation and implementation of solutions to the problems
    • Interfacing with taxing authorities
    • Analyzing IRS notices and preparing/reviewing responses
    • Consulting with clients regarding their tax issues
    • Researching more complex accounting and tax issues as required
    • Supervising and reviewing all tax projects
    • Preparing individual returns for sophisticated level business clients
    • Preparing partnership, C Corp and S Corp returns, trust, and gift tax returns
    • Preparing complex tax projections
    • Conducting tax planning projects for individuals and businesses

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
    • 6+ years of tax and accounting experience
    • Management experience preferred
    • Ability to work closely with clients
    • Proficient in paperless environment

    • Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office, and various tax and accounting software including QBO & QBD, and ProSeries, a plus
