Job Description
Sterling Personnel, Inc. is recruiting for a Part Time Payroll Clerk to work remote for our client in Katy, TX. The PT Payroll Clerk’s primary responsibility is to compile and record employee time and payroll data. The PT Payroll Clerk will need to be available Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm central time.
PT PAYROLL CLERK RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review time sheets, work charts, wage compensation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies
- Verify Attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, and post information onto designated records
- Compute wages and deductions, and enter data into Avionte Back Office
- Keep track of leave time, such as vacation, personal, and sick leave for employees
- Prepare and balance period-end reports, and reconcile issued payrolls, to bank statements
- Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer’s social security, unemployment, and worker’s compensation payments
- Maintains employee’s confidentiality and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential
- Ensures timely processing of all staff payroll in accordance with labor regulations and standard in accounting principles
- Assist staff with general questions related to payroll, leave accruals, wage deductions, fringe benefits, and other pay related issues
- Perform other duties as assigned
PT PAYROLL CLERK REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of Accounting/Payroll experience
- Experience with Avionte Classic required, experience with Avionte Bold is a plus
- Knowledge of multi state laws and regulations to include taxes, garnishes, child support, etc.
- Associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred
