    A -  MAIN MISSION:

     

    The Sr Project Manager will lead or manage cross-functional strategic IT initiatives in North American or globally.  These will be medium to large scale, high impact projects with moderate risk and complexity. The assignments will require a broad range of experience/knowledge and utilize Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid delivery methodologies. Proficiency in all stages of the project lifecycle including requirements gathering, scope, risk management, change management, budget & resource management and the delivery phases & ongoing application of lessons learnt are required.

     

    B - MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES, STANDARDS, REPORTING:

    Responsibilities:

    • Work with the business to identify a prioritized backlog of demand.
    • Apply thorough planning and business analysis skills to document requirements and identify the budget and resources required to deliver these.
    • Establish and maintain RACI matrices to drive stakeholder engagement throughout the delivery cycle.
    • Pro-active management of risks to ensure controlled, predictable project delivery.
    • Create detailed, well thought out project plans and ensure adherence from all stakeholders to their respective objectives and deliverables.
    • Organize and lead periodic communication sessions with all concerned, to provide status and receive feedback
    • Enforce strict control processes to manage scope, quality, schedule, risk and issues, contingency plans, budget, resources, success metrics, and benefits.
    • Application of rigorous change control to all project baselines.
    • Build detailed project budgets and own the process for project approval.
    • Validate financial forecasts and provide ongoing reconciliation of resources and related project expenditures
    • Ensure results are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefit.
    • Provide guidance and support to subject matter experts and other team members assigned to run projects.

    Standards:

    • Membership in the global Formica Project Management community
    • Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization
    • Ensure projects adhere to methodology and compliance standards set by the company
    • Ongoing development and uplift of project management skills throughout the business
    • Ensure that all projects are closed correctly and BAU support models are established and understood

     

     

    Reporting:

    • Interface with Global IT Leadership team to assign, co-ordinate, and report on projects across the regions
    • Portfolio reporting to demonstrate status and progress of all in flight projects
    • Management of demand pipeline to ensure that project demand is captured, prioritized, planned and executed
    • Ongoing development of methodology to incorporate internal feedback, lessons learned and wider best practice techniques
    • Ongoing project health checks to drive continuous improvement

     

    C - SKILLS:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in appropriate discipline
    • 3-5+ years’ experience of working in project management
    • Appropriate project management certification or progress towards (PMI/ITIL)
    • Proven ability to manage projects in Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid methodologies
    • Experience managing at least 3-4 projects concurrently
    • Strong time management, organization, verbal and written communication skills
    • Self-motivated and proactive
    • Ability to manage competing, sometimes conflicting demands.
    • Approachable, relatable, exhibits high level of emotional intelligence and self-awareness
    • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, including the ability to remove barriers and enable teams to complete their objectives.
    • Comfortable communicating at different levels within a large organization.
    • Able to manage the needs of diverse stakeholders.
    • Strong focus on delivering quality business outcomes.
    • Strong influencing and negotiation skills, including the ability to navigate in a matrixed organization effectively
    • Flexible and willing to travel up to 10%

    MINIMUM APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Four year college degree in accounting/finance
    • 3+ years of relevant experience; including SEC reporting experience
    • Understanding of U.S. GAAP financial statements, and SEC reporting requirements
    • Superior critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, ensuring deadlines are met
    • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of individuals
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office competency
    • Able to work additional hours as required particularly during quarter-ends and annual audit
