    ~ SIU ANALYST / DESK INVESTIGATOR ~

    We are seeking individuals with prior insurance claims and SIU experience to be a part of and to assist our Special Investigative Unit (SIU) team. This position requires the ability to amass data from disparate sources and shape it into a format that helps identify, analyze, investigate, manage, and understand fraud risk.

    Spanish/Bi-lingual skills, a plus.  

     MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: 

    • An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related field is   preferred.
    • Must have the ability to independently navigate and use industry computer programs, personal data, and all available open source intelligence resources in a manner that complies with company policy.
    • Prior claims experience and a working knowledge of insurance operations, claims handling, insurance policies, legal issues, industry technology resources, and fraud investigation techniques preferred.
    • Must be able to deal tactfully and diplomatically with the public and outside authorities.
    • Must have the ability to evaluate and investigate suspicious claims activities and make appropriate recommendations based on proven facts.
    • Must hold a current Florida All-Lines Adjuster License or be able to complete the training and background to obtain that license within three (3) months from date of employment

     ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Researches, plans, organizes, and assists as needed to identify possible fraudulent activities or transactions using fraud referrals from other departments, trend reports, and programs designed to identify possible fraud trends, etc.
    • Reviews fraud referrals as needed; work closely with SIU staff in performing necessary research and preparing appropriate plans of action.
    • Attends and participates in necessary training to develop and improve skills and meet state regulatory educational requirements.
    • Performs meaningful research as requested using appropriate field, computer and telephone investigative techniques and provides appropriate documentation of actions in a thorough timely manner.
    • Performs assigned fraud reporting to various regulatory agencies.
    • Continuously develops knowledge and expertise related to insurance fraud by keeping current on related law, regulations, trends, and emerging issues.
    • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by a supervisor.
    • Maintains a diary system on all assigned files and tasks.
    •  Assists as needed with fraud training or internal staff.

    PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Strong technical skills in basic and advanced open source intelligence resources and programs.
    • Strong collaborating skills and an ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
    • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines; high energy, self-motivated and proactive.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to multitask and be flexible regarding workload and assignments.
    • Ability to exercise judgment and exhibit a strong code of personal ethics.
    • Ability to gather information from an array of sources efficiently and produce comprehensive and cohesive reports.
    • Ability to provide support to SIU investigators and management regarding necessary research, administrative reporting/duties, and record keeping.
    • Expertise in multistate laws and regulations is a plus.
