The Art Auctioneer is responsible for managing all sales related to art on board the ship - promotion, direct sales, and hosted live auctions. Conducts the latter in well organized, fast-paced, and entertaining manner reaching a broad spectrum of perspective bidders and (eventually) buyers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Interact with cruise ship passengers, engaging with them about their day, the artwork in the onboard gallery, and what art on the ship has caught their eye
Set up art displays of up to 300 artworks on auction days
Engage in consultative one-on-one sales conversations
Create marketing materials for distribution
Give presentations, seminars, announcements
Assist with administrative tasks, such as inventory and paperwork
ABOUT YOU
clean-cut, responsible, money motivated, sales-driven
Fine art knowledge is a plus
Positive attitude, enjoyment in meeting others, a true go-getter spirit
Ability to balance professionalism with approachability
Appreciation for beauty, art, and luxury goods
Good, clear spoken and written English is a must, as associates must speak in front of multitudes and be able to deal with documentation and sales transactions records
Knowledge of other languages is a plus
