    The Opportunity

    SLT seeks an Office and Program Assistant to help us embark on a new level of growth and engagement over the next five years and beyond. The candidate must have excellent organizational and time management skills, interpersonal skills, and telephone demeanor (ability to communicate professionally and effectively with project partners and donors); be detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize, problem solve, and multi-task; and have familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, as well as experience with databases and website management.

    Essential Functions

    Administration & Office Support

    • Provide a welcoming front desk presence; interact with the public.
    • Keep office space clean, organized, and professional in appearance.
    • Check general email account and voicemail box; respond to general inquiries.
    • Assist DFO with managing and distributing mail, making bank deposits.
    • Arrange file shredding and assist with filing as needed.
    • Assist Executive Director (ED) and DFO with preparation of reports and materials for board and committee meetings as needed. Prepare and distribute materials for board and committee meetings; assist with meeting scheduling and logistics.
    • Upon request, attend board and committee meetings to take clear, concise minutes.
    • Assist with product research, searching quotes from vendors, ordering merchandise and supplies.
    • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

    Communications & Membership Program Support

    • Keep website up to date.
    • Create social media calendar and content to ensure a solid social media presence.
    • Assist with monthly eNews, other digital communications, PR, and newsletter.
    • Assist with event coordination, logistics; represent SLT at events upon request.
    • Receive and track donations in donor database.
    • Produce donor acknowledgements and letters.
    • Produce accurate mailing lists and donor reports.
    • Assist DFO with coordinating appeals and bulk mailings.
    • Assist staff and board with special projects and events as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Quick learner with a passion for land conservation and Stowe Land Trust's mission.
    • High attention to detail and quality in writing and data entry tasks.
    • A team-oriented individual ready to work with all members of the SLT staff.
    • Ability to work on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
    • Be able to autonomously prioritize tasks.
    • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel and Outlook. Expereince with Adobe Creative suite is a plus.
    • Excellent customer service skills and an enthusiasm for interacting with the public and engaging in conversation about land conservation.
    • Familiarity with database work. Experience in Little Green Light is a plus.
    • Excellent and collaborative communication skills.

    Compensation: This is a full-time, 35-hour/week, fully in-person position based at Stowe Land Trust's 6 Sunset Street office in Stowe Village. The ideal candidate will be available during regular office hours Tuesday through Friday from 10am - 4pm; a flexible and/or part-time schedule are options for the right candidate. Hourly wage is $20-30/hour dependent on experience.
