    Applications Associate

    We are looking for a dynamic individual to join Straits Financial LLC as Applications Associate to be the subject matter expert and support for our backbone post-trade processing system as well as drive process automation & digital transformation to achieve operational efficiency.

    This role has dual portfolio accountability and will report directly to a local Manager and have functional reporting to Straits Financial Group IT and Group Operations in Singapore (Headquarter).

    Responsibilities :

    Post-trade Backoffice System Support

    • Be the main support for enhancement & improvement initiatives for the backbone post trade processing and settlement system for the local office.
    • Perform functional validation & testing as well as plan & coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for all enhancements delivered.
    • Assist with production issue tracking from working with vendor & users on the appropriate solution and simulating the test scenarios with objective of verifying the results when fixes are delivered in the test environment, until soundly implemented & rectified.
    • Engage and work closely with user teams, IT team and solution vendor to scope requirements for system improvement initiatives, generate ideas and solution development.
    • Write business requirement documents (BRD) for vendor team’s assessment of development scope.
    • Be the bridge and manage interactions between various business users, IT team and solution vendor.
    • Assist Operations Team to manage the end-of-day settlement processing in the backoffice system
    • Project progress tracking and reporting

    Process Automation & Digital Transformation

    • Engage various business units to understand existing Operational and Business processes to identify areas for automation and Digital Transformation possibilities.
    • Work closely with Straits Financial Development team in HQ to create automation scripts and fit-for -purpose application systems to improve productivity and meet operational and business efficiency.
    • With the support from Straits Financial HQ, manage Application support and provide user training for newly developed application systems.
    • With alignment with Straits Financial HQ policies and standards, ensure that all application systems and automation initiatives are secured and aligned with HQ.
    • Act as subject matter expect for Digital Transformation initiatives bridging Straits Financial HQ and Straits Financial LLC.

    Candidate Skills/Requirements:

    • At least 2 years of project management or business analyst experience in the financial brokerage services industry
    • Minimum B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Math, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics, or other related degrees.
    • Experience at a Futures Commission Merchant, Broker/Dealer, other financial registrant, or regulatory agency desired.
    • Working knowledge/exposure to Exchange Traded Futures & Options and OTC commodities preferred.
    • Self-motivated, high level of dependability, organization, attention to detail and problem-solving skills required.
    • Must be able to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills
    • Workday is flexible with Work from Home potential. Some tasks may require evening availability but can be executed from home.
