LAB TECHNICIAN - MANUFACTURING/R&D ENVIRONMENT

PURPOSE & SCOPE:  The purpose of this role is to safely operate the R&D extrusion line, to analyze and test zipper, and film.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

• Setup and run extruder line during material and die trials.
• Maintaining trial records, filing system, and samples.
• Ability to work independently, be analytical, attention to detail, good listener 
• Utilize test equipment to analyze product - I.e.: digital calipers or microscope
• Complete line setup and run trials on the R&D extruder line
• Conducts lab test to determine material performance
• Organize and schedule work based on incoming requests
• Maintain inventory samples per established unit
• Communicate status of requests

Qualifications

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Familiar with Microsoft Office - specifically, Excel & Word
• Mechanical aptitude - can turn a wrench and not scared to get your hands dirty
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 to 3 years industry experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate who possesses a strong work ethic, drive, attention to detail, strong attendance record, etc.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Ability to stand for long periods of time.
2. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
3. Ability to walk
