This is a full-time employment (FTE) career prospect!

Our client is searching for a Frontend Software Engineer to help us build a platform for renting and buying furniture in an environment where people’s needs, tastes, and even locations are constantly changing. We’re building our product from scratch and the person in this role will work along the other engineers on our small team to focus on our user-facing web app and internal tooling for our operations team.

Engineers at this client start-up play a pivotal role in figuring out the destiny of our business. They are equally as involved in dreaming up game-changing ideas for people’s spaces as we are in executing on those ideas.

    What you will do:

    • Work on our core web app
    • Work on our internal web app

    - As an e-commerce platform

    - As a recommendation system

    - As a way to visualize furniture in someone’s space

    - Evolving ways to better communicate about how to fill someone’s space

    - For expressing what the products are in intimate detail

    - Using third-party integrations for internal tooling, payments, order last-mile efforts, and data collection

    - We use Retool to make sophisticated internal tools for order & inventory management

    - Connect with Stripe, Onfleet, and various analytics tools

    - Engage with everyone in the company on brainstorming, prioritizing, and developing a strategy around marketing, operations, support, and everything else we do here (all the way down to figuring out how to get rid of our mountains of boxes)

What you need for the job:

    - Enough experience that you can jump in head-first (ideally 1-5 years)

    - Frontend-specific or full-stack experience

    - With at least one of the following: Vue, React, or Angular (we use Vue)

    - Thoughts on how architecture should work

    - Participation in discussions of stability & efficiency

    - How to best develop a product for flexibility and experimentation in the future

    - Eagerness to think about our problem domains in the context of how the client’s systems work

    - How people think about furniture

    - Product recommendations

    - Payment systems

    Bonus points for:

    - Open-source frontend contributions

    - Ruby / Node / Python experience is helpful (we use Ruby)

    - Domain experience in e-commerce, modular apps (eg CMS, CRM, whatever), or 3D are all nice, but not required
