Head of Engineering - Cloud-Hosted LDAP and Radius Systems

San Francisco, CA
Full Time

  • Responsibilities

This exciting y-combinator startup increases your organization's server and network security by ensuring employee accounts have access only to what they need. Their cloud-hosted LDAP and RADIUS systems help you bring best-practices to your infrastructure. And they're backed by existing Google Apps accounts.

This client, a YCombinator (S15) company, helps companies implement security practices in their infrastructure. Their first product offers SSH key management, LDAP, and RADIUS in the cloud to ensure that engineers and employees use their own accounts to log into servers and wireless networks.

Furthermore, they're encouraging companies to make access control API-based, so that access can be given and then rescinded as soon as possible (on-call shift over, JIRA ticket closed, etc.).

This client is looking for a Head of Engineering who has significant (10+ years) experience with building infrastructure software and operating high-uptime, high-performance systems in the cloud.

This is a critically important role, and as such, it comes with a large amount of equity attached.

    Responsibilities:

    • Hands-on role (MUST be a hands-on coder!)

    • Lead by example

    • Hands-on coding = MORE THAN Code reviews

    Requirements:

    • 10+ years of experience writing software

    • Ability to code in at least one of the following: Python, Go, Node, Ruby, C/C++

    • Specialties: Security, SaaS, LDAP, RADIUS, VPN, SSH, LINUX, AWS, Google Cloud, Network Security, Information Technology, and DevOps

    • CISSP or related security certifications are desired but not required

    • Attend security conferences and events (RSA - for example).  The ideal candidate will have a reputation among security experts and have publications/speaking engagements at conferences, etc.
