Our client is looking for a 2D technical artist or graphics engineer with a strong Unity background to join their mobile game development studio in Los Angeles (Venice Beach), California.

The ideal candidate MUST have an eye for style and be able to work in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities:

• Integrate artist UI mockups into Unity
• Animate and integrate coding hooks into the game
• Create and implement Unity 2D animations using Timeline
• Provide feedback to the design team on UI and animations
• Act as a bridge between Art, UI, & Engineering Departments

Required Skills and Experience:

• Four (4) year degree in a design, games-related or technical field
• A minimum of two (2) years Unity experience
• Technical understanding of the Unity framework and game dev pipeline
• Unity UI / Canvas / Animation experience
• Expert in scripting with C# within the Unity environment for UI integrations
• Strong understanding of lighting models and its interaction with materials
• Expertise in Photoshop and Illustrator
• Excellent communication skills to deliver feedback and provide direction to artists and engineers

Nice to Have:

• 3D experience and knowledge of 3D tools and best practices (Shader Graph,
• 3Ds Max and Substance Painter)
• Digital design or art experience
• Experience working on free-to-play mobile games
• Experience shipping a mobile game title
• Passion for playing and making games
• Experience working in a start-up environment
