An exciting Bioinformatics start-up in Cambridge, MA is looking for a Mid-Senior Level Python Developer to join their growing team. They build instruments that store genetic data in the cloud for scientists, researchers, biologists, and disease experts to access anywhere in the world with an internet connection.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of professional experience working with Python and is comfortable with Rest APIs and interested in working with JavaScript. Responsibilities:

- Build, prototype, and test biomedical code using best practices

- Assist in the build of their new development infrastructure and the development of algorithms for genetic data

- Participate and contribute to the on the front end and backend of internal and client-facing software tools

- Collaborate with scientific and research team members to ensure scientific specifications are met

Requirements:

- 4+ years of professional experience as software, preferably doing Python development

- Professional experience in Life Sciences or Bioinformatics industry preffered

- Comfortable or interested in learning Python framework/libraries like Django or Flask (Not Required)

- Familiar or comfortable with JavaScript for occasional UI development (they are currently using React)

-Professional experience storing data in AWS/Amazon Web Services

Desired Skills:

- Professional experience developing algorithms using Python is a PLUS

- Professional experience deploying web applications to AWS

- Any experience using CUDA or OpenGL; Experience doing image analysis or analyzing genetic sequencing is a PLUS

The position would be 80-90% backend-focused using Python.
