Job Description
Responsibilities:
SEG is seeking a seasoned senior associate for a full-time position coaching and mentoring facilities teams through the adoption of continuous improvement in energy management. This position requires simultaneous collaboration with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders from multiple organizations ranging from utility program representatives to executives and staff of participating customers.
Individuals in this position will have a proven track record of building and leading cross-functional groups with and without direct authority over individual team members. The position demands the application of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to engage, coach, mentor, and support executives, facility managers, building engineers, and other operations and maintenance staff in adopting a sustained continuous improvement approach to energy management.
Specific activities include:
· Respond to, support, and motivate firms and individuals working at all levels of the organization to advance energy reduction initiatives.
· Communicate with customers, co-workers, contractors, and facilities teams in group settings, on the phone, and via web-based platforms.
· Collaborate effectively with diverse individuals on various and unpredictable challenges.
· Observe or monitor objects, equipment, or data to determine compliance with prescribed operating standards.
· Identify problems or deficiencies and identify possible alternatives for corrective action relative to the adoption of continuous improvement energy management practices.
· Manage multiple projects under tight timelines.
· Use a personal computer, and data management software in performing duties.
· Produce well written documents with clearly organized thoughts.
Desired Skills & Experience
The position entails coaching and mentoring facility managers, directors, building engineers and executives on adopting a continuous improvement approach to energy management. In support of those activities, the ideal candidate will have experience developing and managing budgets, implementing standard operating procedures, and proven customer service skills. Specific skills and experience include:
· B.S. degree; exceptional candidates' experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
· Minimum four years managing teams in an operations environment
· Certified Energy Manager certification a plus
· Directing, supervising, and evaluating departmental staff.
· Ensuring managed staff receive training related to specific job tasks and responsibilities.
· Managing directing and overseeing external contractors.
· Developing and monitoring department budgets and making requests for capital expenditures as needed.
· Experience implementing continuous improvement or change management in your organization. Example systems include Lean and Prosci.
· 1 or more years’ experience in the energy efficiency field, preferred
· Applicants should possess a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record
