    Campus Nurse (RN) to support Youth Education Programs

    Assignment Details:

    Rate: $30 - $35 Per Hour

    Part-Time Support

    Supporting Grades: K-5

    Requirements:

    Education and Work Experience

    ADN or BSN from accredited College of Nursing

    1yr Acute Care Experience

    Current and valid Nursing License Texas License.

    Preferred:

    Pediatric/adolescent experience preferred

    Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.

    Current ACLS certificate preferred.

    Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.

    Major Responsibilities and Duties:

    Assess student health status; identify acute, chronic and emergency needs and notify parents/guardian of accident or illness; and make appropriate referrals utilizing knowledge base and strategies applicable to the kindergarten age child through the young adult.

    Monitor and provide direct services and care to student maintaining accountability for all care and services provided. Administer medications to students according to school guidelines.

    Document thoroughly all nursing assessments and care provided and maintain complete and confidential Student Health Records.

    Identify and implement appropriated interventions to address physical and emotional health needs of all students (i.e. suicide, substance abuse, depression and physical/mental abuse)-

    Assess and intervene to manage acute, chronic and emergency health care needs of students and staff.

    Perform health screenings for student and staff

    Coordinate referrals to private healthcare providers

    Serve as liasion between campus staff, family and community healthcare providers on health related issues with students enrolled in program.

    Develop plans for students with identified healthcare needs based on assessment and/or interventions

    Oversee medication administration and other related healthcare procedures

    Oversee infection control measures

    Make decisions to delegation of healthcare task as directed by state laws and CDC

    Provide health advice to campus staff related to both staff and students

    Manage clinic space and the duration of the camp/school program operation hours.
