Our brand, Chief Investment Officer (CIO) is a financial publication/brand whose target readers are the men and women who run the world’s largest pools of capital—public and private pension plans, endowments and foundations, insurance general accounts, and sovereign wealth funds.  CIO products include an online daily news and newsletter service, a global conference series (CIO Summits), and a global awards series.  CIO employees are based in New York.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Pitching, sourcing and writing spot news and long form news articles for the ai-cio.com website on a daily basis, as well as editing the work of colleagues for the same medium.
• Developing close contacts within the institutional investment world, with a focus on pension and non-profit executives in North America and Europe.
• Breaking news by working sources, checking public filings, reporting from conferences and public meetings.
• Researching the world’s top chief investment officers and asset allocators.
• Producing feature-length and long-form articles for CIO website
• Helping to produce the CIO Summit Series (agenda creation, speaker invitations) and the Industry Innovation Awards (audience development, award presentations).
• Writing longform-style piece for weekly centerpiece.
• Sourcing and producing interviews with pension/endowment/foundation executives, as well as investment consultants and institutional investment industry thought leaders 
• Helping to manage social media platforms.
• Managing multiple assignments while meeting daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.
• Ability to network and greet a room
• Launching daily newsletter and posting stories to the web.
• Producing podcasts with top CIOs.

Qualifications

• Aggressive reporter or former financial industry professional who takes initiative in finding, pitching and delivering well-reported and “actionable” stories about issues affecting Chief Investment Officers in the form of spot news and long form articles.
• Good track record of reporting on the financial industry, and deep knowledge of institutional investing
• Solid industry sources
• Able to read and understand and break news from public filings (ie: SEC) 
• Ability to multitask and to deliver 1-2 news stories per day, plus one in-depth centerpiece story per week 
• Good communication skills
• Ability to “work a room”
• Knowledge of AP Style
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Added plus: HTML, WordPress, Eloqua, FinalCut Pro, podcast and copyediting experience.
