Job Title: | Strategic Maintenance Technician
Reports To: | Engineering Lead
Summary:
The Strategic Maintenance Technician will be responsible for all daily building and machine maintenance requirements. The Strategic Maintenance Technician will address facility maintenance, facility setup, equipment maintenance, as well as equipment preventative maintenance. Specifically, they will also play a significant role in the setup of a new manufacturing facility. Safety is paramount in all aspects of the business, and maintenance is no different. Prior experience performing maintenance-related activities with a primary emphasis on adhering to all safety guidelines and requirements is mandatory.
Responsibilities:
Team Development
Assist with training and developing team members (as the Maintenance Team grows)
Design & Development
Develop preventative maintenance schedules.
Process Improvement
Analyze current maintenance processes and identify areas for improvement.
Develop and execute process improvement projects to optimize operational “up-time” on equipment.
Quality Assurance
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for all operations performed.
Project Management
Lead and manage maintenance projects from concept through to execution, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and quality objectives are met.
Coordinate with other departments such as procurement and production to ensure smooth project execution.
Health & Safety
Promote a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies.
Most importantly, promoting a safe working environment giving the utmost attention to safe practices while performing maintenance-related activities.
A strong knowledge of OSHA regulations with particular attention to facility setup and operation.

Required education and experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
3-5 years of experience in facility/equipment maintenance
Preferred education and experience:
Experience with electrical systems, mechanical systems, facility improvement and upkeep, and equipment troubleshooting.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies, with a strong focus on Visual Project Management Systems.

Physical Demands:
Standing and walking for extended periods
Lifting materials up to 50 lbs
Reaching, bending, and occasional carrying of materials or supplies
Work environment:
Standard manufacturing environment.
Work is performed inside or outside year-round. There is exposure to dirt, dust, moderate to high noise, moving equipment, vibrations, and seasonal weather conditions year-round.
All necessary PPE and training will be provided.
