About the Role
We are seeking a Project Staff Accountant to join our team. This role combines traditional
accounting responsibilities with project-based financial oversight. You’ll execute multiple
general ledger activities, execute both Field and Office Payroll, assist with month-end and
year-end close, and provide financial analysis for ongoing projects. The ideal candidate is
detail-oriented, proactive, self-starter and comfortable working in a dynamic environment
where priorities shift quickly.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee project accounting, including tracking budgets, costs, and profitability
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and project reports
• Manage day-to-day accounting functions (AP, AR, Job Cost, Payroll and GL entries)
• Execute and deliver AIA-G702/G703 client based Billing Compliance requirements.
• Provide accurate timely Accounting, Finance and Operational reporting.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Perform bank reconciliations and cash flow analysis
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate cost allocation
• Assist with audits and compliance reporting
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5-7+ years of experience in accounting, with exposure to project-based work
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Skills
• Experience with job costing and project profitability analysis
• Knowledge of construction or manufacturing industry accounting
• Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced Excel functions
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
