    Summary

    We are seeking an experienced Project Environmental Planner in our government infrastructure sector to assist us in the continued growth this service area in Hawaii and the Pacific. This position can be based out of Maui or Honolulu, HI. We are a multi-disciplinary earth and environmental consulting firm providing a wide range of services to public and private clients. A successful history of client relationships, business development skills, and project and team management are desired.

    Roles & Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will:

    • Conduct research and compile information in a clear and concise manner appropriate for transmitting complex issues to the public.
    • Write professional-quality reports.
    • Perform fieldwork, including some travel and occasional weekend work.
    • Serve as project or task manager.
    • Marketing and business development activities to develop new clients.
    • Providing technical mentoring to junior staff.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • A bachelor’s degree in planning, environmental science or natural resources. (Master’s degree preferred)
    • 12+ years preparing and managing the development of environmental planning (NEPA and HEPA) and permitting (Clean Water Act Section 404 and 401, Stream Channel Alteration, Special Management Area, NPDES, etc.) documents.
    • Experience managing environmental planning and permitting projects for a variety of agencies.
    • The ability to interact well with internal staff and project team that will include other consultants, contractors, and clients.
    • A commitment to teamwork, problem-solving, and client service Experience in managing internal and external project teams.
    • Strong communication, organizational and project management skills.
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills. GIS and AutoCAD skills useful.
    • Knowledge of relevant local, state and federal laws and regulations.
    • Experience in preparing cost proposals and work plans.
    • Experience in business development.
