  • Responsibilities

    Role and Responsibilities

    Owns or leads clients in a variety of accounting engagements or initiatives, working under the direction of Director of Accounting or other upper level Finance & Accounting resources. Will hold primary relationship representatives for accounting needs on occasion. Accounting Manager roles and responsibilities:

    Process /Operations

    Reviews/oversees accounting process and final product of client engagements.

    Supervises work of off-shore and stateside team as needed.

    Assists with creation of policy and process used in client engagements.

    Makes journal entries as needed.

    Responsible for final reviews of financial packets for presentation meetings.

    Reviews variance explanations to gain overall understanding of client deliverables.

    Assists with implementation process improvements development.

    Does client training on process improvement as needed.

    Leads new client-onboarding under direction of Director of Accounting

    Researches client questions as requested

    Other projects as assigned

    Analysis

    Ability to analyze data to insure proper accounting and reporting

    Leads development and/or improving preliminary deliverables for client engagements

    Applications

    Leads support for accounting applications used in client engagements

    Training

    Leads team in producing quality accounting and reporting

    Leads other team members when needed

    Client Relations

    Ability to gain confidence of client personnel and have a customer service attitude

    Communications

    Insure clear communication to clients/accounting staff through the various ways of communication

    Ability to present materials to client and/or internal staff

    Core Functions

    Implements and helps creates guidelines on engagement as established by Director

    Monitors staff schedule, work priorities and tasks

    Helps lead the planning and organization of individual projects and responsibilities

    Track and record time spent on client projects

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    Bachelor’s Degree required

    Industry experience preferred but not required

    Minimum 3 - 5 years prior accounting work experience

    Strong knowledge of QuickBooks and/or other accounting systems preferred.

    Preferred Skills

    Additional skills preferred include:

    Knowledge of MS tools such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook
