Stratus Surfaces is a well-capitalized start-up wholesale company located in Austin, Texas and has a job opening for an Entry Level Staff Accountant position. The Staff Accountant will provide timely and accurate entry-level to mid-level administrative and financial support services and will obtain a diverse understanding of different accounting functions over time through working directly with the CFO. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Review bank transactions daily. Post customer payments to the appropriate general ledger accounts by recording check batches, credit card transactions and electronic transfers in the accounting software Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted Ensure accurate and complete customer information is maintained in the ERP Prepare and file state/local sales tax forms and returns ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements Assist/support with annual audits and tax returns Perform inventory cycle counts and reconciliation Additional duties as assigned Must posses the following skills: - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field - Knowledgeable in financial computer software - Detail orientation - Proficiency in Excel - Excellent time management and ability to meet constant deadlines BENEFITS: - Dental insurance - Medical insurance - Vision insurance - 401(k) - Paid time off
