    LOCATION PORTLAND, OREGON 

    THIS IS A HYBRID ROLE, BOTH IN STUDIO AND REMOTE. 

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Business Systems Analyst supports all facets of the business and TPS, Technical Production Services by overseeing business systems—gathering and analyzing information or data and determining where to make improvements within applicable systems. The duties of an analyst include working with management and end users to gain an understanding of how Straub's systems of the business work and how it could work better. They oversee how each new requirement or piece of functionality fits into the overall business process.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Analyze current business processes and make recommendations for improvement based on industry trends and professional business knowledge
    • Improve training and operational procedures within a business to increase efficiency and productivity
    • Work directly with functional business departments to understand the individual needs of the business
    • Create and present reports to executive team members and shareholders to support recommendations
    • Oversee implementation projects from beginning to completion
    • Use a variety of data analysis and organization tools to discover the most impactful insights
    • Creates Departmental and systems documentation, participates in Change Control Process, Policy, and Procedures.
    • Communicates ideas for improving department processes with a positive and collaborative attitude.
    • Ensures processes meet requirements and provide adjustments when necessary.
    • Consulting with business leadership to ascertain strategic goals
    • Examines current business procedures and recommends new ones.
    • Surveying the systems, recommending modifications, automation and enhancements that are ideal for the user experience
    • Calculating the cost-effectiveness of a new system versus an old system
    • Developing specifications and templates for software engineers, and developers to follow
    • Performing risk assessments on legacy systems as well as proposed systems
    • Determines operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, and evaluating output requirements.
    • Designs new programs by analyzing requirements, constructing workflow charts, and writing specifications.
    • Improves systems by studying current system practices and IT modification design.
    • Recommends controls by identifying problems.
    • Defines project requirements by identifying project milestones.
    • Monitors project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, and recommending change.
    • Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Computer Science, Statistics or equivalent education and experience
    • 2-4 years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar system/business support role
    • Knowledge of software development lifecycle and AGILE methodology.
    • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere.
    • Experience with Capture One, Canon, PhaseOne, and Profoto lighting required.
    • Problem-solving - identifying challenges within the organization and then implementing certain procedures and processes to overcome them. Strongly developed problem-solving skills.
    • Communication – strong written and verbal communication to gather information about a business and create reports. Communicate with team members of all levels.
    • Technical - upgrading, troubleshooting and implementing new programs is one of the requirements of a systems analyst.
    • Project management - strong organizational and time management skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs, specifically Word and Excel. Within Excel, the candidate should be able at a minimum to execute a search, sort a list by applying multiple filter settings, populate a new column of data in an existing spreadsheet, and manage file conversions among CSV and text-based files to Excel.
    • Must have an excellent ability to problem solve and creatively respond to set needs.
    • Must have proficient necessary math skills and the ability to read, write, and speak English.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Industry certifications in business analysis, software systems, network or project management disciplines, preferred
    • CBAP® (Certified Business Analysis Professional) Certification
    • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring seamless execution through stellar organizational and time management skills.
    • Strong attention to details with ability to focus on a repetitive task and consistently accurate entry of data.
    • Solves non-routine problems in collaboration with his or her manager; takes initiative to modify procedures and processes as appropriate and makes contributions that impact work team results.
    • Demonstrated planning skills and the ability to prioritize using information around due dates, clients, internal resource skill sets, and when to escalate for assistance and awareness.
    • Ability to work both independently and within a changing team.
    • Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedules.
    • Experience with ShotFlow and ProWorkflow.
    • Respectful and courteous when interacting with others, a calm and collaborative demeanor is expected when working through conflict. You will always professionally present the studio and yourself. The expectation is to balance listening and talking, writing clearly, and accurately any decisions.

    BENEFITS

    The salary range for this full-time position is $80,000 - $95,000, commensurate with experience and skills.
