    Job Description

    POSITION OVERVIEW: 

    The ACCOUNTING TRANSITIONS MANAGER is responsible for driving all aspects of the accounting set-up and transition of newly contracted or purchased property assignments and sold or terminated assignments.  This position balances scope and time to identify any delays in tasks while maintaining a positive collaboration with necessary parties to ensure a timely completion of quality deliverables.  In performing the essential functions of this role there will be direct participation in client relationship management with guidance from the Vice President of Project Accounting. 

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Coordinate with Treasury department to set-up bank accounts as prescribed in the management agreement.
    • Prepare and/or release wires as needed.
    • Collaborate with the Stream or client financial systems staff to ensure accurate transition of historical ledger data.
    • Mapping of the General Ledger Accounts for clients who are requiring their own chart of accounts.
    • Preparation of first full month reporting cycle to ensure A/P, A/R and the financial statement package meet the requirements of the management agreement.
    • Communicate and interact frequently with all stakeholders in Property Management, Property Accounting, IT, Treasury and assigned client contacts.
    • Ensure compliance with SOC I requirements.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of related accounting/reporting full cycle GL experience
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
    • Prior Real Estate Experience required
    • Comfortable interacting with clients to understand requirements         
    • Demonstrated advanced quantitate analytical and accounting skills, a clear understanding of accounting principles, and ability to solve complex issues and problems
    • Intermediate to advanced competence in MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Teams
    • Experience with various accounting systems, MRI and Yardi experience preferred
    • Exceptional collaboration, verbal, and written communication skills, with a passion for customer service for both internal and external clients.
    • High level of motivation, ability to take initiative and multi-task while thriving in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment
    • Ability to work with minimal oversight
    • Great project management, time management and documentation skills
