We have driven economic equity for 25 years by delivering highly impactful workforce development mentoring programs for over 25,000 individuals. These programs provide unemployed and underemployed adults in New York City and Washington D.C. with life-changing career opportunities while giving employers access to a pool of capable and diverse talent.

    StreetWise Partners' one-year mentoring program provides customized, individualized mentorship for internship and job seekers while helping them establish an expansive professional network made up of hundreds of advocates who open doors and support long-term career success. By 2026, we aim to launch 1900 careers, which equates to $92m in first-year cumulative wages, to transform individuals, families, and communities.

    Position Overview:

    ****The Program Assistant will support mentee recruitment in Washington, D.C., with the goal of enrolling 60 mentees. The Assistant will be responsible for processing applications, scheduling and facilitating information sessions and conducting intake assessments.

    The Program Assistant will also help launch our mentoring program, with new programs being launched in the fall and spring. This temporary full-time position in Washington, DC, will last 3-6 months with the potential to be hired. This position reports to the Sr. Program Director and is a hybrid role, with 1-2 days per week in the office or as needed.

    Responsibilities Include:

    Recruitment Support

    • Schedule and facilitate mentee information sessions to engage potential applicants.
    • Schedule and conduct mentee intake assessments, provide insights on acceptance decisions and send acceptance emails.
    • Participate in the mentor-mentee matching process for 60 mentoring pairs; assist the team in developing strong matches based on industry, demographics, communication style, and personality traits.
    • Manage data tracking of candidates in Salesforce.

    Program Support

    • Support the preparation and logistics of our 13-week mentoring program, including weekly program emails, special events communications, and updating attendance documents.
    • Conduct preliminary program participant assignment checks. Communicate late submissions to program facilitators and mentors. Inform the program team when challenges arise such as time management and communication.
    • Track and send weekly program awards to mentees excelling in the program.
    • Distribute the beginning, mid-cycle check-in, and end of the program surveys, as well as the outcomes surveys. Ensure all participants have completed the surveys in their entirety.

    Qualifications:

    • 6 months to 1 year of administrative or customer service experience.
    • Strong presentation and communication skills.
    • Strong technical aptitude (Microsoft Office Suites/Excel, Slides/PowerPoint)
    • Knowledge of Salesforce or another database is preferred.
    • Strong project management and organizational skills with detailed follow-through abilities.
    • He has demonstrated a commitment to sharing lessons learned, creative problem-solving, exploring best practices, and continuously improving service delivery.
    • Passion for driving economic equity; sincere interest in the mission.

    Salary and Benefits

    • Salary range $24-$26 an hour

    Physical Environment

    ****This position requires sedentary work. Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity.
