These programs provide unemployed and underemployed adults in New York City and Washington D.C. with life-changing career opportunities while giving employers access to a pool of capable and diverse talent.

    StreetWise Partners' one-year mentoring program provides customized, individualized mentorship for internship and job seekers while helping them establish an expansive professional network made up of hundreds of advocates who open doors and support long term career success. By 2026 we aim to launch 1900 careers, which equates to $92m in first year cumulative wages to transform individuals, families and communities.

    Position Overview:

    The Program Support Coordinator is an exciting role that is charged with ensuring that our mentoring relationships stay strong, long-lasting and impactful. The Program Support Coordinator will support mentee/mentor pairs through our 13-week mentoring program that serves 160 mentees a year. The Mentoring Coach will ensure high program retention rates and make sure mentees are prepared with the skills needed to successfully navigate the job search process, ace the interview, and master the essential skills needed for job retention.

    This is a full-time position in Washington DC and reports to the Senior Program Director. The role is currently hybrid, with 1-2 days a week in the office. One evening a week is required.

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Empower mentee success throughout the 13-week mentoring program, serving adults from under-represented communities who are seeking employment. New programs launch three times per year.
    • Foster consistent communication with mentees and mentors through weekly program emails, ensuring they are well-informed about program details and special events. Attend weekly calls with facilitators to stay on top of trends and provide guidance.
    • Provide support counseling for mentees utilizing a strengths-based approach, addressing topics such as confidence building, goal attainment, time management, and managing frustrations during the job search.
    • Assess and resolve mentee/mentor challenges through informal mediation meetings and role modeling a commitment to overcoming obstacles.
    • Cultivate and expand our database of community partners who serve as resources for mentees in crisis or at risk of program incompletion, including lack of professional attire, housing, and public assistance. Connect mentees to outside services as needed.
    • Utilize Canvas, our online learning platform, to track attendance and program assignment completion. Provide encouragement and reinforcement for mentees who fall behind.
    • Upon completion of the program, collaborate with the Talent Services team to prepare graduates for job interviews with our employer partners.
    • Once graduates are employed, leverage mentee relationships to collect important employment outcomes (ie. Job attainment, salary increases, role advancement). Outreach includes surveys, phone calls, and internet research. Maximize the use of Salesforce to collect and report on outcomes.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field. BSW preferred
    • 1-3 years of experience working in social services
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to maintain effective relationships with mentees, mentors, and program stakeholders
    • Demonstrated passion for empowering individuals from under-represented communities in their pursuit of employment.
    • Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
    • Proficiency in utilizing technology platforms such as Canvas and Salesforce for efficient program management.
    • Enthusiasm to share lessons learned, creatively problem solve, explore best practices, and continuously improve service delivery.

    Salary and Benefits

    • Comprehensive benefits package including 100% health care coverage for individuals.
    • 4 weeks of paid vacation and a paid week off at the end of the year.
    • Flexible work hours, select summer Fridays off, and a hybrid work schedule.
    • Salary range $40,000 - $52,000 annually

    Physical Environment

    ****This position requires sedentary work. Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
