Strength and Conditioning Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Director of Athletic Ministries
QUALIFYING CHARACTERISTICS:
The Strength and Conditioning Coordinator should display a commitment to Jesus Christ demonstrated in professional and personal life, a commitment to Christian education, and a calling to invest in the physical, spiritual, and character development of student athletes. This individual should model leadership, discipline, and a passion for mentoring students within a Christ centered athletic environment.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred. Previous experience developing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for high school or collegiate athletes preferred. Current nationally recognized strength and conditioning certification required.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive, age appropriate, year-round strength and conditioning program for all high school sports.
Lead and supervise training sessions before school, during the school day, and after school.
Teach athletic period classes and provide direct instruction in proper lifting technique, movement mechanics, speed development, and conditioning principles.
May teach health or performance related courses as assigned.
Establish and oversee performance testing protocols to track strength, speed, agility, and conditioning progress.
Utilize and manage performance tracking systems, including TeamBuilder, to monitor athlete development and guide programming adjustments.
Work with individual athletes on sport specific development, corrective exercise, and performance goals.
Collaborate with the Athletic Trainer to support injury prevention initiatives and assist with return to play programming.
Serve as a nutrition and wellness resource for athletes and collaborate with Sage on fueling education and performance habits.
Serve as a key contributor to the school’s mentorship and discipleship programming, building relationships with student athletes and reinforcing leadership, character, and accountability.
Partner with head coaches to align performance programming with sport specific needs and competitive calendars.
Oversee daily operations of the weight room and performance spaces, ensuring a safe, organized, and high functioning environment.
Assist in planning, design input, and buildout of strength and conditioning facility improvements.
Maintain equipment and recommend upgrades or purchases as needed.
Assist the Director of Athletic Ministries and Athletic Department leadership as designated.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to meet the physical demands of demonstrating exercises, supervising workouts, and actively engaging in training environments.
EXEMPT STATUS: Salaried
