DUTIES (SPECIFIC FOR THE POSITION)
Provide advanced analysis and design of all types of buildings and structures for normal and accident loading conditions. Advanced structural analytical capabilities include dynamic seismic analysis (response spectra and time-history), generation of in-structure seismic response spectra, tornado winds and missile penetration and precipitation (rain, flood, snow).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education: An advanced degree and experience, a Ph.D. degree and about 10 years' experience. OR A MS degree and 12 years' experience. OR A BS degree and approximately 15 years' experience.
Education (Specific for the Position): An advanced Civil Engineering degree and relevant experience, a Ph.D. degree and about 10 years' experience. OR A MS degree and 12 years' experience. OR A BS degree and approximately 15 years' experience.
Experience/Skills: Considered an internal expert in area of expertise. Contributes to advancing knowledge in field of expertise through various avenues such as internal and external publications and professional society presentations. Can solve complex problems in field.
Experience/Skills (Specific for the Position): Candidate must demonstrate 8 years recent experience in design and analysis of NRC or DOE regulated nuclear facilities. Experience with finite element analysis is required. Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of STAAD, ANSYS or ABAQUS or similar computer codes. Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of National Codes and Standards; specifically, IBC, AISC (ASD, LRFD, & N690), ACI (318 & 349) and ASCE (4, 7 & 43).
Candidate must be able to perform field walk-downs to document as-installed conditions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (SPECIFIC FOR THE POSITION)
Current registration as a Professional Engineer in either Civil or Structural Engineering
Experience in analysis for structural response to explosion (blast/detonation and deflagration)
