This is an exceptional opportunity to advance your career while enjoying the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule (mix of in-office and remote work) and working alongside some of the most respected engineers in the Southeast.

    About the Firm:
This firm is a leader in structural engineering for building design, with an outstanding reputation for innovation, quality, and client service. The team works on a broad range of building projects, including commercial, institutional, healthcare, educational, and specialty structures. Thanks to a strong backlog of work and robust client relationships, the firm continues to expand and offers clear growth paths for its engineers.

The firm offers relocation assistance for qualified candidates who want to make Knoxville their home — a vibrant, affordable city with an outstanding quality of life. In addition, because the company works on U.S.-based public and private projects, applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Lead the design of structural systems for gravity and lateral loads across a variety of building types

    • Manage projects from concept through construction completion, coordinating with clients, architects, contractors, and internal team members

    • Design and analyze concrete, steel, masonry, and wood structural systems

    • Oversee project budgets, staffing, and design documentation

    • Contribute to business development and foster long-term client relationships

    • Mentor junior staff and contribute to a culture of learning, collaboration, and innovation

    • Balance technical leadership and project management while taking advantage of the firm’s hybrid work model

    What You’ll Need:

    • 5–10 years of structural building design experience

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering

    • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Structural Engineer (SE) license, or actively pursuing licensure

    • Proven expertise in designing with concrete, steel, masonry, and wood

    • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams

    • Excellent communication skills and a client-service mindset

    • Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment that supports a hybrid work schedule

    • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis (no current or future visa sponsorship available)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience managing project budgets and manpower planning

    • Familiarity with structural analysis and design software tools

    • Prior experience contributing to business development and client relationship efforts

    Why You’ll Love Working Here:

    • Hybrid work flexibility supports both in-person collaboration and remote work-life balance

    • Work on a diverse range of innovative building design projects with a firm that is an established leader in the market

    • Enjoy a steady pipeline of projects with no slowdown in sight

    • Be part of an award-winning team and an employee-focused culture known for its commitment to mentorship and professional development

    • Opportunity to relocate to Knoxville with support — an affordable, livable city with outdoor recreation, cultural attractions, and a strong local economy
