Mid-Level Structural Engineer | Albuquerque, NM
Our client, a nationally respected structural and civil engineering consulting firm, is seeking a Mid-Level Structural Engineer to join its Albuquerque, New Mexico office. This is a unique opportunity to take on design and project management responsibilities across a variety of market sectors, including Department of Energy (DOE) and Department of Defense (DOD) facilities, higher education, healthcare, sports, and advanced manufacturing.
This role is ideal for a motivated engineer who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is looking to expand their technical expertise while contributing to high-impact projects throughout the region and across the country.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and contractors throughout the full project lifecycle
Manage and collaborate with engineers and technical staff to produce high-quality drawings and deliverables using industry-standard design and modeling tools
Provide mentorship to junior engineers on topics including design best practices, software use, and building code interpretation
Develop and oversee project schedules, design budgets, and work plans
Participate in business development activities by building and maintaining client relationships
Perform site visits, support construction administration tasks, and ensure compliance with design documents and applicable codes
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Minimum of 4 years of progressive structural engineering experience (Master’s degree may count as one year)
Demonstrated ability to lead and be in responsible charge of small to mid-sized projects
Preferred Qualifications:
PE license in the state of New Mexico
6+ years of structural engineering experience
Successful completion of the 16-hour Structural Engineering (SE) exam
Experience managing multiple projects from conceptual design through construction
Strong time management and project planning skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Active participation in technical or professional societies
Proven ability to coordinate with jurisdictions, clients, and design teams
Familiarity with structural modeling, detailing, and coordination using industry software
