Structural Engineer- Project Manager Responsibilities
- Lead and manage structural engineering projects from concept through completion, with typical construction values between $1M and $50M.
- Supervise and mentor a team of engineers and designers to achieve project milestones and deliverables.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring successful project outcomes.
- Oversee scopes, budgets, and schedules; review project documents for technical accuracy and quality assurance.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on staffing needs, team development, and strategic project planning.
- Represent the firm in client meetings and industry events, assisting with business development and proposal preparation.
Structural Engineer – Project Manager Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or the ability to obtain licensure within 12 months.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in structural engineering for building design; candidates with 5-10 years will be strongly considered if ready to step into a project leadership role.
- Experience working with a variety of building materials, including wood, masonry, and concrete.
- Familiarity with structural analysis tools (RISA, RAM, or similar) and Revit; hands-on Revit experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong soft skills—effective communicator, team leader, and mentor with a passion for building relationships and delivering high-quality results.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $115,000 – $125,000 (flexible for highly qualified candidates).
