Integrity in Design. Leadership in Action.

Are you an experienced Structural Engineer who enjoys the 'puzzle' of complex building systems? Thompson & Litton is looking for a self-motivated professional to join our collaborative, multi-disciplined team. From designing high-performance systems for new institutional landmarks to conducting vital structural investigations on existing facilities, you will be a key player in delivering safe, innovative solutions to our communities.

The Role: Analysis, Leadership, and Oversight

As a Structural Engineer at T&L, you will go beyond the calculations to lead the structural narrative of a project. You will:

    • Determine System Choices: Perform and provide direction for structural analysis, calculations, and system selection across a variety of building types.
    • Lead the Design Group: Oversee the work of entry-level engineers and technicians, ensuring the production of high-quality design drawing packages.
    • Be a Field Expert: Conduct site visits and forensic structural investigations for renovations and additions to assess existing conditions.
    • Collaborate Across Trades: Interface with architects and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated, on-budget project delivery.
    • Manage the Lifecycle: Generate construction specifications using CSI-based templates and handle contract administration, including RFIs and submittal reviews.

    What You Bring

    • Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis (ABET-accredited).
    • Credentials: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred.
    • Technical Depth: Ideally 5–7+ years of experience in structural design for commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors.
    • Material Mastery: Proficient in design using Steel, Concrete, Wood, Masonry, PEMB, and Light Gauge Steel.
    • Strategic Thinking: Experience estimating engineering effort and managing project scopes.

    Why Thompson & Litton?

    • Beyond the Years: We value your professional goals and the specific depth of your experience just as much as your 'years of practice.'
    • Creative Involvement: You aren't just a 'production' engineer here; you are welcomed into the creative process to provide excellent solutions for our clients.
    • Stable & Growing: Join a firm with a broad regional footprint and a diverse project portfolio that offers long-term career stability.

If you're excited about joining and award-winning team committed to community impact, we want to hear from you!
