Job Title: Structures Technician
Department: Structures Shop Full-time Non-exempt
Reports To: Shop Floor Manager
Job Description:
The Structures Technician will maintain, repair, modify, fabricate, and installation of parts, items, and assemblies of structural components using current technical data such as blueprints or manufacturers drawings/manuals. The Structures Technician plans, lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs both internal and external aircraft structures and surfaces for aircraft repair. The Structures Technician performs repairs with varying sheet metal types, and thicknesses. The Structures Technician will remove and replace various fastener types such as solid rivets, blind rivets, HI-Locs, etc.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
• Read and write English.
• Read and follow all work instructions, as well as properly document work performed using
documents such as process planning, adhesive log sheets, Material Review Board/Engineering Work Orders (MRB/EWO's), Process Specifications, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Manuals, etc.
• Read basic blueprints.
• Use close tolerance measuring tools (i.e., scales, micrometers, calipers, depth gages, etc.).
• Use hand tools (i.e., drill motors, die grinders, rivet guns, fastener installation tools, etc.).
• Perform alignment/assembly using jig, templates and fixtures.
• Perform trimming burring, countersinking, riveting, drilling and reaming to blueprint
specified tolerance.
• All other duties assigned.
Education and Training:
• Must be 18 years or older and legally allowed to work in the U.S.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to read blueprints, specifications, technical manuals and test equipment procedures.
Experience, Skill and Knowledge:
• 6+ Years Experience preferred.
• Airframe and Power Plant license preferred. • Must successfully pass a Respirator Fit Test prior to performing duties requiring respiratory protection
and maintain compliance with fit testing requirements throughout the duration of employment, in
accordance with company policy and applicable safety regulations.
This includes the ability to remain clean-shaven in areas where facial hair may interfere with the
sealing surface of the respirator.
• This position is classified as safety-sensitive under FAA regulations and is subject to the requirements
of the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Drug and
Alcohol Testing Program. Employees must pass a pre-employment drug test and are subject to random,
post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty, and follow-up testing. Ongoing compliance with
all FAA drug and alcohol regulations is required throughout the duration of employment.
Physical Requirements:
• Requires lifting of items weighing up to sixty (60) pounds on an occasional basis.
• Requires physical effort associated with standing / walking / sitting.
