POSITION SUMMARY
Student Success Coaches are committed members of a collaborative school team that is closing the opportunity gap for students through proactive, responsive, and data-informed behavioral and social-emotional support. A Prodeo Academy Student Success Coach is intensely focused on each student's growth and success and responds to student needs in a loving, structured manner rooted in trauma-informed and restorative practices, while maintaining high expectations for behavior and learning.
Student Success Coaches work in close partnership with teachers, school leaders, and families to support students' social-emotional development, behavioral regulation, and access to learning. Support may occur through proactive push-in services, small-group instruction, short-term removals when necessary, and re-entry planning to return students to learning as quickly as possible. This position is ideal for an individual who is energized by complex student needs, receptive to feedback, skilled at relationship-building, and able to work collaboratively across lines of difference with cultural responsiveness and professionalism.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Student Support & Skill Building
- Teach and reinforce appropriate social, emotional, and behavioral skills across all school environments, including classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, recess areas, and school transportation settings (e.g., school bus).
- Support students in developing self-regulation, problem-solving, and coping skills.
- Ensure students have access to academic work and instructional materials when receiving behavioral support outside the classroom.
- Utilize approved social-emotional learning curricula and evidence-based behavior intervention strategies.
- Support students in returning to learning as quickly and successfully as possible following behavioral incidents.
Behavior Intervention & Schoolwide Support
- Serve as a calm, positive, and regulated presence within the school community.
- Implement schoolwide behavior systems, routines, and expectations consistently and with fidelity.
- Provide proactive push-in support and reactive intervention as needed, based on student needs and program design.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring behavior support plans in collaboration with teachers and leadership.
- Facilitate re-entry, problem-solving, and restorative conversations with students, families, and staff when appropriate.
- Communicate with families regarding significant behavioral incidents, re-entry plans, and ongoing supports.
Crisis Response & Safety
- Participate in and maintain required training related to de-escalation, crisis response, and physical intervention, as determined by the school.
- Implement de-escalation strategies and crisis response procedures in alignment with school policy and training.
- When required and appropriately trained, assist with physical intervention to maintain student and staff safety, following all legal, ethical, and procedural guidelines.
- Prioritize student dignity, safety, and the least restrictive response in all crisis situations.
- Accurately document incidents and communicate with leadership following crisis events.
Data Collection & Analysis
- Set and monitor clear, student-centered goals related to behavior, engagement, and time in learning.
- Collect, track, and share behavioral and engagement data regularly with school leaders and instructional teams.
- Use data to develop and adjust short-term, data-informed intervention plans for individual students or small groups.
Collaboration & Teaming
- Work closely with teachers, special education staff, administrators, and related service providers to align supports.
- Participate in grade-level, data, and problem-solving meetings as appropriate.
- Approach teamwork with humility, flexibility, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions with students, families, and staff.
Professional Development & Responsibilities
- Attend all required professional development and training, including a 3-week training in August.
- Participate actively in coaching, observation, and feedback cycles.
- Demonstrate receptiveness to feedback and implement recommended practices.
- Maintain required certifications in school-approved safety, de-escalation, crisis response, and physical intervention programs, as well as Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification
- Remain organized, prepared, and reflective in daily practice.
- Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance, which is an essential function of the role.
- Ensure safety and appropriate supervision of students at all times.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the school and organization.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education Preferred: Bachelor's degree
Preferred Experience & Knowledge
Experience working with students with behavioral or social-emotional needs.
Knowledge and application of trauma-informed practices and restorative approaches.
Experience using data to inform student supports and interventions.
Classroom teaching or school-based student support experience preferred.
Ability and commitment to participate in and maintain school-approved training in de-escalation, crisis response, and physical intervention.
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification preferred or the ability and commitment to complete RBT coursework and certification process.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work is performed in a school/classroom environment with typical levels of noise and activity.
- Exposure to students with varying emotional, behavioral, and academic needs.
- Occasional exposure to bodily fluids may occur.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
- The role may require movement between classrooms, buildings, or school sites.
