    SUMMARY

    The Student Support Services Adult Student Advisor is a 12-month, full-time position that will recruit and work with students over 25 years old through their admission and onboarding, advise them on coursework and college resources, and support them throughout their time on campus. They will also work with community agencies to identify potential student populations for future cohorts. Some weekends and evenings are required. QUALIFICAITONS

    1. Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field preferred, or Bachelor's degree in a Human Services/Social Work-related field with two or more years of experience working with adults in an academic, workforce setting, or other adult cohort such as veterans or students enrolled in SUNY Reconnect.

    2. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    3. Strong communication and computer skills are required.

    4. Attention to detail and organizational skills required, as well as the ability to work with diverse student populations.

    5. Experience with academic advisement and personal issues related to adult college students is highly recommended.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Coordinate and host information sessions and other recruitment programs for adult students to increase awareness of Clinton Community College, both on campus and in the community
    2. Assist students through the admissions, registration, and financial aid process.
    3. Maintain working knowledge of all college programs, degrees, and certificates.
    4. Learn and utilize college technology
    5. Interpret academic policies and college procedures
    6. Provide academic advisement to adult students
    7. Offer crisis management and problem-solving strategies as needed.
    8. Develop and present student workshops and programming geared to adult students
    9. Participate in New Student Orientation.
    10. Act as liaison between the campus community and adult students.
    11. Provide transfer and career advisement.
    12. Serve as advisor to an adult student cohort club or activity
    13. Serve on college committees.
    14. Perform other duties as assigned.
