    JOB SUMMARY

    Artisan Trading Company, LLC (dba Studio Tile and Stone & dba Atlantic Tile Distribution) is seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent in the tile, stone, and slab industry to join our growing company. We are looking for a team member who is an analytical thinker, detail-oriented, organized, and a problem solver. This person will be responsible for ordering for both businesses and maintaining inventory levels at Atlantic Tile Distribution. In this position, you will play a critical role in the success of our business by developing purchasing strategies, working with suppliers, and buying products and supplies.

    Responsibilities

    • Issue purchase orders to suppliers for customer and stock orders.
    • Verify the accuracy of orders for correct items, quantities, prices, and ship to location.
    • Track all purchase orders, back orders, and post updates in ERP system.
    • Support sales staff on a daily basis with updates on open orders and ETA's.
    • Understand project schedules and ensure goods are delivered within the time constraints.
    • Ensure that inventory levels of merchandise are adequate to meet the needs of Atlantic TIle Distribution.
    • Analyze stock levels bi-weekly and place orders accordingly.
    • Negotiates with vendors on price, mode of shipping, and delivery time.
    • Analyze final landed cost for material received.
    • Process Claims and handle returns.
    • Request samples when needed.
    • Assist with cycle counts from time to time.
    • Work closely with relevant departments to develop future purchasing plans and source potential relationships with vendors.
    • Coordinate with the sales department and warehouse staff to ensure proper delivery and pickup of orders.
    • Build trusted relationships with suppliers, agents, and team members.
    • Check invoices for accuracy and authorizes the accounts payable department to issue payment.
    • Keep price lists up to date in the shared network.
    • Develop a strategy for getting certain price lists updated in the ERP system and maintain price formulas.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
    • Experience: Some previous work-related experience

     

    SKILLS

    · Strong organizational skills to ensure adequate tracking systems are utilized to maintain and track all required information associated with the ordering process.

    · Must possess analytical, problem-solving, quantitative, and financial skills, as well as exceptional time management skills.

    · Ability to work independently and make decisions on non-routine tasks and matters.

    · Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in a professional manner with both internal and external contacts; vendors, customers, etc.

    · Must have a willingness to learn and be comfortable taking direction.

    · Proficient in MS Office products, Gmail. Knowledge of RFMS is a plus.
