    Job Description

    Job Summary / Overview: This position performs a broad range of complex clerical and administrative tasks requiring independent judgment and a thorough understanding of the student information system (Synergy), IDEA procedures, and school district operations. Responsibilities include preparing and managing detailed documentation and reports, maintaining accurate and organized records, coordinating special education meetings, and ensuring compliance with all related processes. Additionally, the role involves providing instructional support in Resource and general education classrooms, teaching support classes and electives, and covering classes as needed during IEP meetings.

    *This will be a full time assignment for approximately 3 months.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    ● Perform all case manager assistant duties related to IEP processes, including transferring incoming IEP
    documents into Synergy, scheduling meetings, conducting student observations, and finalizing IEP
    paperwork.
    ● Compose memos and correspondence; distribute as necessary to peers, teachers, students, and parents.
    ● Provide instructional support to students in the Resource Room and general education classrooms, teach
    support classes or electives, substitute for absent teachers, and cover classrooms during IEP meetings as
    needed.
    ● Stay informed about federal, state, and district laws and policies related to IDEA.
    ● Attend and participate in district CMA meetings.
    ● Maintain various confidential records and files.
    ● Assist with cafeteria duties and supervision.
    ● Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    ● Learn and apply detailed knowledge of the procedures involved in the administration of special education
    procedures and records maintenance.
    ● Demonstrate strong attention to detail by accurately completing tasks, maintaining precise records,
    following complex procedures, and reviewing work for errors.
    ● Ensure all documentation, data entry, and communications are highly organized, thorough, error-free, and
    aligned with program guidelines and compliance requirements.
    ● Navigate a variety of computer systems, enter data, and maintain the accuracy of the information being
    entered.
    ● Demonstrate highly developed written and verbal communication skills.

    ● Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, and parents.
    ● Work independently and ensure confidentiality.
    ● Work under the pressure of deadlines.
    ● Work with frequent interruptions and preserve an order status of tasks during times of unusually high
    workload.
    ● Maintain regular and prompt attendance.

    Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

    ● Work is performed indoors and outdoors in a school environment with extensive student, parent and staff
    contact and frequent interruptions.
    ● Primary functions require dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other office
    equipment; sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time; kneeling, bending at the waist; lifting,
    pushing, pulling and carrying school equipment, supplies and materials weighing up to 25 pounds; emotional
    stability to work effectively under pressure and to keep all aspects of the job under control; hearing and
    speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone; and seeing to read, prepare and assure the
    accuracy of documents.
    ● Must be able and willing to work in a structured, disciplined, and high-accountability environment that
    follows a military-style model and program guidelines.
    ● Required to model and enforce program expectations, including adherence to dress codes, schedules,
    behavioral standards, and chain of command procedures.

    Salary: $18.56-24.58 DOE

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or higher preferred.
    • Experience in office settings with a focus on managing paperwork, meeting deadlines, and using data entry systems is strongly preferred.
    • Experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred.
