IN-PROCESS CONTROL-PAINT (IPC) ENGINEER
QUALITY CONTROL DEPARTMENT

OUTLINE OF DUTIES:
· Lead and/or support continuous improvement activities to improve spray both processes, electro-deposition process outputs i.e., film thickness, appearance, and color matching.
· Support and/or lead cross functional problem-solving activities interfacing with Paint Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering and Paint Vendors to determine root cause analysis of any paint quality concerns.
· Interpret color, appearance quality, and film thickness using sampling data and visual inspection.
· Verification of process changes to ensure quality meets Subaru Technical Standards.
· Actively pursue new ways of analyzing and communicating data to improve quality.
· Create and maintain project schedules.
· Actively participate in cross-functional teams to recommend and countermeasure plant-wide issues.
· Evaluate all paint manufacturing processes and develop work instructions based off engineering drawings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree in technical field (i.e., Industrial, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering/Technology) or a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
· Knowledge in basic statistics and statistical process control.
· Demonstrated past experience using data to solve complex problems.
· Ability to communicate complex/detailed information to a wide/general audience.
· Motivated to implement change management processes (PDCA).
· Possess strong analytical troubleshooting skills.
· Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel/VBA and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Excellent team-building and interpersonal skills.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally a paint/coatings application and/or a quality-related role
· Previous chemistry/lab experience - optical microscopy, FTIR, and physical property testing.
