Position: Substitute Teacher (Infant–Pre-K)
Locations: Kiddie Academy of Parker & Kiddie Academy of Lone Tree
Reports To: Academy Director / Assistant Director
Summary
The Substitute Teacher provides flexible classroom support across both Kiddie Academy of Parker and Lone Tree locations. This role assists in maintaining a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years, while ensuring compliance with Colorado Office of Early Childhood (OEC) licensing regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Step into classrooms as needed (infant, toddler, preschool, and pre-K)
- Ensure the safety, supervision, and well-being of all children
- Support daily routines including feeding, diapering, toileting, and activities
- Follow lesson plans or assist with age-appropriate activities
- Maintain required staff-to-child ratios at all times
- Adapt quickly to different classrooms, age groups, and team dynamics
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
- Communicate effectively with staff and leadership at both locations
- Help maintain a clean, organized classroom environment
Qualifications (Colorado Requirements)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must complete PDIS trainings
- 2+ years of verifiable experience with children
- Flexible availability and reliable transportation between both locations
- Experience with multiple age groups preferred
Required Certifications
- CPR & First Aid (Infant/Child) certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Universal Precautions training
- Background check and fingerprinting per Colorado regulations
