    The Council for Professional Recognition is the nation's leading credentialing organization for early childhood educators and the home of the Child Development Associate (CDA)® Credential—the most widely recognized certification in early childhood education. For more than 45 years, the Council has advanced the professionalization of the ECE workforce by establishing rigorous standards that ensure educators have the skills and knowledge to support the healthy development of children from birth to age five.

    We are seeking a detail-oriented, service-focused Subject Matter Expert (SME) Coordinator to provide administrative and logistical support for our Early Childhood Education (ECE) research and pilot projects. This is a temporary part-time position (25 hours/week) through the end of 2026.

    About the Role

    The ideal candidate will serve as the primary liaison for our subject matter experts (SMEs)—including educators, trainers, and PD specialists—ensuring they are successfully recruited, onboarded, and supported through their work with the Council. This is an ideal role for someone interested in ECE, educational research, or project coordination. This position will work with both the Research and Psychometrics Team and the Innovations Team.

    Classification: Temporary Part-time (25 hours/week), Non-Exempt

    Hourly Rate: $30-$35

    Key Responsibilities

    · SME Outreach & Engagement: Assist in identifying and inviting ECE professionals from diverse settings to participate in panels, workshops, and pilot projects. Send out surveys, collect and synthesize responses, and recommend SME participants.

    · Scheduling for Educators: Coordinate meeting times that work for busy ECE schedules (e.g., during nap times, after-school hours, or weekends).

    · Onboarding & Compliance: Guide SMEs through the completion of participation agreements, payment documentation, and confidentiality forms; ensure all credentials (CDAs, degrees, or certifications) are documented.

    · Virtual Workshop Support: Act as the 'tech host' for virtual sessions, helping educators navigate Zoom/Teams and ensuring they have access to review materials.

    · Project Tracking: Maintain a clear database of SME demographics and participation hours to ensure we meet representation goals for psychometric validity. Track SME progress on work and provide feedback when appropriate.

    · Communication: Send reminders, answer 'how-to' questions about the project, and follow up on post-session tasks or honorariums.

    · Issue Honorariums: Compile honorarium documentation and submit for approval and payment.

    Our Ideal Candidate

    The strongest candidates will bring:

    · 0–2 years of experience in an administrative or customer-service-oriented role; experience working in an ECE or school setting is a major plus.

    · Excellent written and verbal skills with a professional tone.

    · High attention to detail and comfort using Microsoft 365 software to track data. Willingness to learn and use project management software such as ClickUp and SmartSheet.

    · Strong time-management skills to keep project timelines on track.

    · Ability to support and guide educators who may be balancing classroom duties with their SME role with empathy and patience.

    · Ability to pivot quickly if a pilot project's needs or schedules change.

    · Bachelor's degree (or near completion) in early childhood education, child development, education, human resources, or a social science field.

    · Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both languages.

    · Familiarity with ECE terminology (e.g., CDA and PD specialists) preferred.

    · Experience facilitating virtual meetings or webinars a plus
