    Lesson Coach Position Summary

    Provides guidance, support, and instruction to support state specific lesson plan development and reviews processes for specific grade levels [Elementary (K-2 and 3-5), Middle (6-8), or High (9-12) to help students achieve academic success.

    Lesson Coach Position Description

    • Attends state synchronous training sessions (4 total)
    • Mentors teachers in state training who are in the content creation process. Creating content refers to writing lesson plans and accompanying materials such as Teacher Slideshow and Student Documents
      • Ensures lesson developers are working creatively and efficiently
      • Conducts check-ins with teachers to ensure their work is on track to pass the lesson plan rubric
      • Gives feedback on lesson plans and accompanying materials synchronously and asynchronously
      • Performs edits as needed to publish content
      • Initiates and maintains email communication & communication documentation
      • Maintains familiarity with StC resources and lessons
    • Serves as a bridge between the Grade Band Coordinator and state teacher community
      • Assist in creating documents and slideshows to ensure accompanying materials pass Teaching Materials Designer review
      • Integrates feedback from External Reviewer, Science Review, and Director of Content Creation Internal Review
    • Enhances collaboration by participating in:
      • Weekly state training office hours (1hr/wk)
      • Weekly/bi-weekly sync-ups synchronous and asynchronous check-ins with the GBC
      • Creates content (write lesson plans and accompanying materials) as needed

    Requirements

    • Passionate about our mission and values
    • At least two years of formal teaching experience or an educator role in a K-5 grade level (can be informal settings such as parks, zoos, aquariums, gardens, community leadership, etc.) in the appropriate age group
    • Must be responsive and communicative
    • Must be available 5-10 hours a week on an ongoing seasonal basis (We are seeking committed candidates who are adaptable but appreciate a flexible work balance).
    • Flexibility to work in a remote setting and support various time zones
    • Access to Internet connection and a laptop or desktop computer

    Auxiliary Requirements

    • Knowledge of climate change topics
    • Ability to balance working independently and collaboratively
    • Experience working with students in a community leader setting
    • Passionate about supporting students' academic growth and helping them develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed.

    What we offer

    • Base pay of $27.04/hr for teachers in the United States. International teachers will have different hourly rates based on location. Please see our Global Compensation Policy for more details.
