About the Role:

Resolution Health And Wellness Ctr in Halethorpe, MD is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. Responsibilities:

Conduct individual and group counseling sessions focused on substance abuse treatment and recovery

Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on client assessments and needs

Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly to ensure optimal outcomes

Provide crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute substance-related challenges

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, social workers, and case managers

Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation and case records in compliance with regulatory standards

Educate clients and families on addiction, coping strategies, and community resources for long-term recovery support

Requirements:

Active ADT, CAC-AD, LGPC, LCSW-C, LCPC, or equivalent Maryland state licensure or certification preferred

Prior experience in substance abuse counseling, addiction treatment, or behavioral health settings

Knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities such as CBT, motivational interviewing, and 12-step facilitation

Strong communication, empathy, and active listening skills

Ability to maintain professional boundaries while building therapeutic relationships with clients

Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and clinical documentation requirements
