    Job Summary

    We are seeking a Substance Abuse/Mental Health Counselor to join our team! As a Counselor on the team, you will be handling a manageable caseload of patients looking to you for treatment and help to overcome a wide variety of addiction, mental health, and issues. Your role will be to support and uplift your clients, offering resources and support for them, creating and implementing treatment options, and identifying core issues that could be contributing to their substance abuse issues and mental health symptoms. The ideal candidate is compassionate, has excellent communication skills, and has experience working with people struggling with addiction and abuse. Is responsible for required documentation and open to taking on projects related to employment. The most appropriate candidates understand the need to put clients before individual needs whenever possible.

    Responsibilities

    Handle a manageable caseload of patients

    Identify core underlying issues that may be contributing to a history of substance abuse

    Create and implement treatment plans that fit each patient

    Uplift and support patients, working with them and their families to help create realistic, lasting change

    Prepare for groups and complete training related to increasing skills set

    Work closely with a supervisor when appropriate

    Complete all documentation according to BHA Rules and Regulations and be willing to work as a team membe4r supporting other team members

    Qualifications

    Licensure with the state desired

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    Strong compassionate outlook, with an upbeat and positive personality

    Experience working with substance abuse desired

    Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health symptoms desired

    Individuals willing to work with a supervisor to gain licensure- must be registered with DORA
